NEYYAR wild life sanctuary stretching from NEYYATINKARA taluk to MUNDANTHURAI Tiger Reserve in Tamil Nadu was established in 1958. It has a crocodile farm and a lion safari park. One can see elephant, gaurs, sambars, barking deer, wild boars, lion-tailed macaques etc. in natural surroundings and also birds such as kingfishers, white breasted water hens, little egrets, brahminy kites etc. in this sanctuary. PEPPARA wild life sanctuary is 50 km northeast of THIRUVANANTHAPURAM city. Animals like gaurs, sambars, wild boars etc. and birds like little cormorants, pied kingfishers etc.
